Deep Breath came into being in mid March when we all realised the impact that Covid-19 was going to have on our lives. On Tuesday 16th March I started sending out meditations to my friends and family in response to the news that had gathered pace over the weekend. I received enthusiastic encouragement to make the recordings available to a wider audience.
Central to this project is the fact that I am developing it while caring for my mother. Mum has dementia and normally has a live-in carer. Despite medication, Mum has a tendency to be highly anxious. When stable and well supported she is a delight to be with. Her short term memory is very poor but occasionally we share interesting and heartfelt conversations.
