I created Deep Breath in March 2020 as a simple initiative to support people with meditation practices in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
We have all needed to adjust and create new ways of managing our daily life and many people have found practising mindfulness very helpful. A common theme that I hear people say is that they are just about coping but that they are also getting more depleted, weary and low due to all the additional daily demands.
We are all running a marathon. We do not know how long the marathon is, nor do we know how things will evolve along the way. What we do know is we need to look after ourselves. We need to know how best to recharge our batteries so that we can also care for others.
Mindfulness techniques can help us to develop a sense of stability and calm in a fast-changing world. Now more than ever we can benefit from staying in the present and cultivating the qualities of kindness and compassion.
What can Deep Breath offer you?
I have been uploading mindfulness practices on SoundCloud to support you during this time. I hope to provide a comprehensive library of practices to suit you whatever your experience of meditation may be. In the next little while I will also be offering a range of zoom sitting groups for you to attend.
I am now in the process of linking Deep Breath with my normal site http://www.stepsahead.org.uk. It will not be long before both sites are fully functional and will work together to support us all.
Mindfulness is not a quick fix but it does offer a range of valuable techniques that help us to respond more effectively to change.
